The Military Hospital in Tjimahi functioned as a camp hospital for prisoners of war and interned men and boys from the camps Bandoeng and Tjimahi. They were housed in several pavilions at the hospital, encircled by barbed wire. From April 1945 the hospital was reserved for Japanese patients. The camp hospital and its administration were moved to a number of houses on Willemstraat, which was part of the Mobile Artillery Depot encampment (camp Baros 6).

The Military Hospital in Tjimahi had functioned as a camp hospital for the camps Bandoeng and Tjimahi until it was in April 1946 reserved for Japanese patients. On September 25th the hospital was taken over from the Japanese by the RAPWI and the Red Cross. Sick people from the surrounding camps and the rest of the surrounding area were admitted to the hospital. These included many Indonesian women who only spoke Malay. Due to this, contact with some of the doctors was sometimes difficult, because the doctors were from the Netherlands, did not speak Malay, and had no experience in the tropics. The seriously ill were given priority for evacuation to the Netherlands. They were taken, among other means, with the hospital ship Oranje. Evacuees were taken by armed convoy to the Andir airfield in Bandoeng, and from there by plane to Batavia.
