Information: At the end of March 1942, prisoners of war from Madoera, Central and East Java, and a group of a approximately 400 civilian men from Soerabaja were interned in sheds, offices, and outbuildings belonging to the Java-China-Japan Line, in the Tandjoeng Perak harbour. They were put to work by day doing, among other things, cleaning and repair work at the Tandjoeng Perak Airfield. Between 5 and 15 September, the British, Australian and American prisoners of war were taken to the HBS in Soerabaja. The Dutch, Moluccan and Menadonese prisons of war went to the Jaarmarkt terrain in Soerabaja.
