From April through October 1942, prisoners of war were interned in the military residences and a barracks at the Train Encampment, the accommodation for the army’s military transport division. The encampment was surrounded by barbed wire. In October the prisoners of war were taken in several transports to the 10th Battalion in Batavia, the 4th and 9th Battalion in Tjimahi itself, and Patekoan in Batavia.

In November, women and children from the Tjimahi area were interned there. A month later, they were taken to Camp Baros 6 (the Mobile Artillery Depot encampment), elsewhere in Tjimahi.
