Tjimahi is in West Java, northwest of Bandoeng. The train encampment was on Pasar Koemeli, in the eastern part of the city.
Internees: prisoners of war Number of internees: 2.000 Information: From April through October 1942, prisoners of war were interned in the military residences and a barracks at the Train Encampment, the accommodation for the army’s military transport division. The encampment was surrounded by barbed wire. In October the prisoners of war were taken in several transports to the 10th Battalion in Batavia, the 4th and 9th Battalion in Tjimahi itself, and Patekoan in Batavia. Commendant: lt. Internees: women and children Number of internees: 1.100 Information: The military residences and a barracks at the Train Encampment in Tjimahi had functioned until the second half of October 1942 as a prisoner of war camp.
