Information: At the end of March 1942, prisoners of war from Soerabaja were interned in sheds, offices, and outbuildings belonging to the Java-China-Japan Line, in the Tandjoeng Perak harbour. They were put to work by day cleaning and repairing the harbour and at the Tandjoeng Perak airfield. They were probably also housed in other buildings around the Tandjoeng Perak prisoner of war detachment, such as the Public Artisans’ Education Center.
