From July 1943, women and children were interned in a former shelter for the mentally ill. They had been previously interned in the Tjideng and Kramat camps. At the end of 1944 the women and children were taken back to Tjideng. The boys and old men stayed behind.

At the end of August 1944, women and children were taken from Grogol to Tjideng. The boys and elderly men stayed behind in Grogol. During September they were joined by groups of boys and (elderly) men from camps in Batavia, Tangerang and Buitenzorg. In November the camp was cleared and the residents taken to Tjimahi.
