Information: From March 1942 to February 1943, the buildings of the Government Civilian School for Higher Education (HBS) formed a collection-and-transition camp for prisoners of war from central and eastern Java. From September these were almost entirely British, American, and Australian. At the beginning of January they were taken to the nearby Jaarmarkt camp.

Information: In the second half of January, the buildings of the Government Civilian School for Higher Education (HBS) served as a transition camp for approximately 2,500 Moluccan prisoners of war from Batavia, who were on their way to Tandjoeng Perak.
