Information: Upon the occupation of Flores in mid-May 1942, the Japanese gathered all of the clergy and religious officials of Flores into the Ndona Mission of the Fathers of the Godly Word of Steyl, near Endeh. On 15 July, 84 priests and friars and 29 nuns were transported to Makassar. Only the Apostolic Vicar and 8 priests were allowed to remain.
