Information: Beginning at the end of March 1942, British-Indies prisoners of war were interned in the KNIL-encampment of Bandjermasin. A group of them were taken in mid-June 1943 to Balikpapan. The rest were freed in September 1945.

Information: Beginning at the end of March 1942, British-Indies prisoners of war were interned in the KNIL-encampment of Bandjermasin. At the beginning of 1943, they were moved to the prisoner of war camp by Balikpapan in three groups on 18 January, 12 February, and 24 April.

Information: Starting in July 1942, civilian men were brought to a former clothing warehouse on the grounds of the KNIL-encampment in Bandjermasin.On 26 January 1945, the remaining internees were transported to Kandangan.

Information: In the second half of February 1945, 382 European prisoners of war were brought to Bandjermasin from the camp in Balikpapan. They were brought to the grounds of the KNIL-encampment. On 28 July, 80 ill prisoners and 20 carers, all prisoners of war, were taken to the prisoner of war camp at Poeroektjaoe. On the way there the transport was attacked by an Allied aircraft. A second transport, carrying about 180 prisoners of war and leaving Bandjermasin on 31 July, collected the survivors on its way to Poeroektjaoe.
