Information: In September 1945, ex-internees from the inland areas of southeast Borneo arrived in Bandjermasin. They were installed in a residential neighborhood. Many tried to leave for the Netherlands, Java, or Australia as quickly as possible, but because of a shortage of transport vehicles people sometimes had to wait a long time before they were evacuated.
