Other name: Herstellingsoord Internees: women and children Number of internees: 110 Information: In the first half of October 1945, 110 sick people from Ambarawa were housed in the Diƫng Hotel and probably also the Park Hotel (previously the Hotel Marcks) in Wonosobo, in order to provide a more relaxed and cooler atmosphere for their recovery from their time in the Japanese camps. Because the military and political situation in Wonosobo became unstable during October, the British decided to move the invalids back to Allied territory. This required intensive negotiations with the local authorities, who initially refused to let the invalids leave. On November 9th the transport was able to leave for Semarang.
