Information: At the end of 1941, the Dutch authorities created an evacuation camp at Pekato for native women and children. During the Japanese occupation it served as a place for members of a native guerilla corps and their families to stay. The corps was at the time of the Japanese invasion being instructed by retired lieutenant-colonel A.L. Gortmans in Enrekang.
