Information: People from the formerly Japanese camps in Ambarawa and Banjoebiroe were assembled in the BAT factory hall to await transport to Batavia or Singapore. On November 18th 1945, the camp needed to be cleared because of attacks by nationalists in the surrounding villages. The evacuees were taken by trucks, protected with mattresses, to the KPM buildings in the Prauwen Harbor.
