Information: Approximately 500 Royal Air Force (RAF) ground personnel were stationed at the Singosari airfield. They were taken as prisoners of war and put to work rebuilding and expanding the airfield. On September 5th 1942, they were taken to the HBS Camp and to Camp Jaarmarkt in Soerabaja. Four British men were executed on May 4th after an escape attempt.
